kenwood amp help

kenwood amp help

anyone know the rms rating on a kenwood kac-829 600 watt 2 channel amp? looked everywhere cant find it. any help would be great. thanks in advance

I'm fairly certain this is what you're looking for:

300 watts x 1 in bridged mode
150 watts x 2 at 2 ohms

In other words, if you bridge it to one channel for a sub, 300 watts rms.
If you power speakers that are rated at 2 ohms, 150 watts rms.

I think that's correct... Maybe someone else will chime in.

with the amp bridged and at 300rms and 600w peak. would it be better to run a 2ohm or 4 ohm sub?

any input? i believe i read somewhere that if you run 2 subs its 100rms at 4 ohm to each speaker. so if i bridge it i know its 300rms then to one sub. but is that 300rms at 2ohm or 4ohm? trying to figure it out before i make my speaker purchase

The amp, bridged, is 300 watts rms at 2 ohms.

i finally got a reply back from kenwood and a link to the book for the amp. its 150w rms x 2 at 2ohms, 100w rms x2 at 4ohms and 300rms x1 at 4ohms

That doesnt make any sense.

look under the specs. for the rated power output for 4ohm

Thats wierd...ive never seen an amp before that will run okay at 2 ohms in normal but not when bridged.
