Loud pop with stock sub and aftermarket HU

So, I got all of the other stuff figured out with wiring the new HU to the factory amp and sub. But I figured I'd start a new thread for a new set of problems.

The problem that I am having is that when I start the truck, the sub makes a loud pop.

I was told in my previous thread that I needed to install a resistor, so I went to radiocrack and got an 8 ohm resistor and installed it a while ago, and after a little driving around, the sub still pops.

When I wired the thing for power, there wad two wires and I only used one and the sub works now (which was my other problem).

I don't know what I used will help, but I had the same problem when I added a Pioneer DVD head unit. I was told to use a specific voltage regulator from Radio Shack. The item number is 276-1770.

Here is a pic:

I hope this helps you.

K guys.

I might try that.

It seems a little more attainable then the other thing mentioned.
