Rockford Audio Upgrade

I noticed this powered subwoofer and enclosure upgrade kit for 04 - 07 models for $150 which looks like a nice deal. Does anyone have any experience with this or know anything about it?

Do you currently have a sub in your truck?

It looks like a factory sub upgrade... I would not go with this unit... Take some time, save some money and add a amp, custom box, and a 10 or 12" sub... It will cost more but it will sound superior to this unit...

I recently added one. It's a very economic upgrade. Also upgraded door speakers. Made a ton of difference.

Are you running this on a factory head nunit or aftermarket? It says its set up for the factory unit, I was wondering if it would work with an aftermarket head unit?
Thanks!

Did you have the wiring already in place for a sub in your truck, or did you have to run wiring to the dash? I'm trying to decide if I can make this work in my truck. Been loooking at different powered sub combo's, this looks pretty good plus I already have RF speakers in the doors. Thanks for the help!

I have this same setup and it sounds good. It is just enough bass for me. If you are looking for a lot of bass I would not recommend this. And this will only work with the wiring harness that comes with it. It does not use the Audiophile connections. It has a t-harness that ties into the factory plug behind the radio. You also have to attach a ground wire and a Hot to the fuse block. It is very easy to install and the install sheet is pretty straight forward.

Thanks f150-zoomer - thats what I needed to know. I think I can make it work with my headunit because I'm still using the factory harness for the door speakers, etc. And I'm not looking for a lot of base, just something to fill in the low end.
