help with replacement speaker

I think i blew my speakers out, and i've been wanting to get new ones for a while now. I've been looking at crutchfield.com for a set up. I really don't know what i'm looking for. I'm not as knowledgeable about the sound. I want speakers that will have a little punch in the bass but also be quality speakers. My truck is a 2005 stx extedned cab. Does anyone have any suggestions?

5x7/6x8 is the size your looking for. Polks and Alpines are nice. I love my infinitys but the majority of guys on this site hate em.

Im not at all a fan of those pioneers. They dont put out nearly as clean sound as my infinities do. I personally like the Alpine Type S or these:

I don't know what you're willing to spend, but if you like Alpine the SWS-1043D woofers are a great choice along with the Alpine SPX-REF17 6-1/2" component speakers for the doors. I'm using the Alpine M-500 amp for the sub and the Alpine MRA-F350 5-channel amp for the components. No distortion... I have the Alpine IVA-W505 HU... It really sounds great...

MRA-F350 5-channel Digital Surround Sound Amp...

SBS-05DC Center Channel Speaker...

Center channel speaker placement... The crossovers for the component speakers are under the front seats...

Internal electrical connections to Optima Red Top Battery...

what ever you get I'd advise against buying from crutchfield. Their prices are highway robbery.

I just dont know how people buy speakers based off what some guy on the phone says, without ever actually hearing them first...

I've bought most of my stuff from onlinecarstereo.com or ebay. So far I like onlinecarstereo but I haven't needed to deal with them on a return yet. That's where they make it or break it in my book.

Very True. That's were recommendation from 3rd parties is best. I bought some infinity speakers from crutchfield a long time back on their recommendations. Those speakers sucked something terrible and come to find out I got them at a horrible price. Then they wouldn't price match telling me good customer service is expensive.

So after talking and reading online to a couple hundred people I bought the Polk MOMO series which was fantastic. That was until a forum member sold me some Rainbow Germaniums. Once you hear high end speakers it's hard to go back down in SQ.
