Stereo connection?
Stereo connection?
I thought someone said once on here that there was a pre-installed connection behind the rear seat. I probably should look for it before posting but geez, what else am I gonna do at work - work I dont think so! lol
I have seen a lot of set-ups for the screw rear seat and some of the other set-ups are awesome. Is there really a connection and how much room difference is there, if any, between the screw and the extended cab rear seat. Just so I know when browsing craigslist.

Are you referring to the space between the rear seat and the back of the cab? If so there is virtually no difference in space between a supercab and a supercrew. I've had my kenwood amps installed behind the seat in both models and they fit the same. Resting on the floor there is roughly 4 inches or so at the base of the seat between the seat and the wall. As you move up the gap closes and the top of the seat rests directly against the rear wall.
As far as a prewired connection I don't believe there is one...if there is then I'm really upset because I've wired all my own in the past. It's fairly easy to get all the wiring back there, Ford left a lot of room around the default harnesses that run that direction.

That is basically wanted I wanted to know. I thought I recalled someone saying there was pre-installed jack or something back there. I was also curious as to possible boxes in scabs fitting screws when hunting craigslist for a possible used box - so in reality Michaelg, you answered both. Thanks!
No problem...a lot of items will move from one model to the next...my sub box has moved from a supercab 03 to a supercab 06 to a crewcab 07. Only thing Ford really changed was the height of the seat, it wouldn't fit underneath the seat in the 06 or 07, but I covered the top with a floor mat and it makes a great step and foot rest for my daughter when she's in her car seat.
Also moved my bed mat from my 03 to my 06 with no problem...it's now in my 07 crew cab and other than the fact that it's folded so it runs up the front of the bed almost to the top rail it fits fine too.
