Has anyone ever had one or thought about something like this?

I don't want an earth shattering bass. Been there done that with my past two trucks. Had 2 10's in a reg cab s10 with a custom box and 2 12's in a blazer. I just want a little more bass. Would something like this work. Im just looking at the money aspect cause the door speakers are fine just want a lil more bass. Let me know what you guys think. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KSCS...10.html?tp=114

IMHO With " •built-in amplifier: 38 watts RMS power (150 watts maximum)" waste of time.

Ive isntalled a couple of the infinity basslinks back when we used to carry them. Those suckers put out a suprising amount of bass for how lil they are.

I think for $250, you could buy a modest little sub, and small amp + build a simple little box for it, and have more punch + be able to say "I built it myself".

$250 is just too much for what you get.... unless you have plenty of $$$, and not much time.

Subwoofer boxes are both fun, and easy to build.

Peace,
Fish

Hey Sherminator, I think that might work for somebody that has never actually had real subs before.....
But seeing that the OP >
Had 2 10's in a reg cab s10 with a custom box and 2 12's in a blazer.
I just can't see door speakers cutting it.

Peace,
Fish

a really nice set of door speaks will put out just as much or more than a cheap sub. yea its not the same as having 10s or but if you dont want too much bass, which he said, it will work. hard to say how much he wants not knowing

i used to sell the basslinks.......nothing but problems with those.....i had a couple of returns and decided not to bother selling them to n e one after that......and their not all that loud.....as someone else said i would get a nice pair of door speakers with some decent bass response like the type r's and theyll get u pretty close to the basslink

So you let a couple of dumb customers change your selling habits? A good salesman doesnt sell out of his own pockets, you sell to what your customers needs are. I've installed maybe 20 of those things, and have had one go bad, which was due to a dumbarse customer pushing it way too hard with the gain cranked way too high.

And anyone who thinks a good set of door speakers can give you the same sound as a dedicated sub off of an amp needs to rethink that statement.

If you're looking to go this route, you may want to see if the Saleen subs on ebay will work with your 2003. I bought one for my NBS 2004 for $160, and have been pleased so far. $250 just seems a bit much for this sort of setup.

CHEAP SUB!!!! i know that door speakers will obviously not be near as good as nice set of subs but he said he already had 10s and 12s and wanted a little more bass not too much. you could get infinity or rockford speaks for the same price as that amp sub he wants. nice door speakers will give you a pretty good bass sound. obviously it wont shake the mirror.

Kenwood KSC-SW10 - a mighty fine little unit. I have a 2001 King Ranch and no real easy way to install a boxed sub. But the ability to place this under a seat and still get that extra thump without having to alter anything = THE WAY TO GO.

And why pay close to the list price when it is available all over the web for as low as $124.

When and if I can get that $$$$ saved up I plan on putting one in my KR. Easy / simple / and will do what I want.
