intriguing. do you have any pics? mines stong enough to sit on as its been done before but it was alot easier to build than tearing up the rear seat.

Looks good. i kicked the idea of fiberglass around for the almost yr mine was uncovered but just decided to do the fabric since i didnt have the time.

what did you have to do to the seats to make it work if anything?

you also have alot more room to work with in your screw

Just had to cut two small squares of carpet, flip a seat bracket over, and drill out one hole in the floor board, and rob the trim pieces off of the 60% seat that came out.

but yes having a screw helps, but im sure a similar box could be done with two 10s instead of two 12s, you'd save about 5" overall length

ive been thinking about doing something similar to what grafixink did with his front seat to mine and i may do that to the rear also and make a box that runs front to back. it probably wont happen for a while since ill have to do some pretty heavy engineering on it to fit nice around the shifter. plus i want to put a space for the cb, cup holders, a console, and 2 subs at the least.

Haha. Yes I can fold the center up and down. It will hit the sub when the seat is all the way back but if I move it up just a bit then it will clear no problem. I dont want to spend the money to get the seat taken apart. Its cheaper to make a box to fit in the middle of the seat. I think I spent like $24 dollars on making that box.

I plan on putting them in the A/C vents. Under the seats and in the speaker grille's. I am going to have some of them wired up to where they come on when the doors are open. I plan on putting some of them in the wheel wells somewhere and under the truck so it looks really sweet at night. Im not sure where else I am going to put them, but I have 50! haha

Okay so I am totally confused as to why people make boxes that point the subs at the floor like you did. I have seen it all over the place, but why?

I understand what you mean completely. I was curious about the console clearance, and wasnt trying to slam your box design.

No no no.. I know you werent. I was just saying it cost a buttload to change up the back seat as opposed to shoving a box in there on top of it.

I want to know why people aim the subs at the floor or seats. Dont they sound better facing up into an open space?

I aimed mine down for because of the box design. The floor of the cab is stronger and doesnt flex under pressure as easily, so you can "bounce" the sound waves across the floor if that makes any sense

I put the top one in my box down to avoid it getting messed up for my idiot friends poking at it like neanderthals when the would see it. that and it is like an armrest now.

Oh okay. So it does not make it any better or worse then. How does it sound upside down like that? Those are 12's right?

And jake.. sounds like you need some new friends that dont live by "so easy a caveman could do it". I had planned mine to be an armrest too, but it isnt wide enough to comfortably rest your arm on, and if you lay your arm down on that sub it hurts haha.

old old old old old video, but they sound alright for cheap single voice coil infinities. And yes its two 12s

Actually the front sub hits the carpet on full excursion, so i need to add some feet on the bottom of the box to lift it 1/2"

another video, sounds much better not blaring loud
