which box?

im thinkin about gettin a new truck soon and im deciding if i should do an upfire box or downfire? im going to be usin 2 12" memphis shallow mounts

i vote for down, that's what i have and i've heard that it sounds better downfiring

My truck has down firing subs and I would not change them. They can really make the floor move...

I've had both up and down firing subwoofers. As long as you have decent equipment and decent tuning ability, either method can sound good. I'm going to build a new box for my Kodas....it will likely be upfiring.

would they have the same output or similar? i think the upfirng would sound a little cleaner b/c it would be muffler but i know downfiring, the bass bounces around alot
