Post BA 6.5" Rally Components - Overkill?

Hi, I'm just researching my options right now. I have the stock premium stereo in my 98 F, and I would like to just upgrade the front door speakers (i.e. no amp).
I would like to put the Boston Acoustics 6.5" Rally Components in, but I'm not sure if I'll be wasting my money because I'm not going to put an amp in. As far as I know, there is an amp with the stock system.
Do you think I should go with a lesser-rated speaker line (or upgraded coaxials) with the stock sound system? Any upgrades in the future would be piece by piece, as I got the money.
I just want a little bit better sounding system at this point. I don't want to go all out.

Cool

Put them in you wont be disappointed . I wasnt thats for sure I put the tweeter in upper door and crossover in the door just make sure you seal it with a liquid electrical insulator. cut a speaker mount out of lifgt gage sheet metal and your all set. no cutting involved
