Want to duplicate factory sub sound

My brother has an 07 king ranch f150 with the factory sub. It is perfect for my sound preference. I am lookin to build a similar system thats aftermarket while retaining my factory radio. I also want to try to build a box or find one that will be around the same dimensions as the factory set up. Any ideas or recommendations surrounding an 8inch sub and amp? Thanks

if it's perfect, why change it?
something you might want to look into is a powered sub...i think i actually just saw one in the classifieds...it's an mtx.
Also, look up infinity basslink - they make powered subs that (i think) sound great!

I guess its feasible to find a factory sub somewhere for sell and some how wire it up to work in my truck...I've got the 6disk changer but I looked under the rear seat and didn't have the harness already there.

Oh sorry I misread your first post...I thought you said you were the one with the KR and factory sub - my fault.
But I'd still recommend that Infinity. Simplest way to install a system also.

Have you heard of anyone putting that Infinity basslink T under the rear seat?

no, but that's exactly what I wanted to do when I had my 02 reg cab...I think it was just a tad too deep for my scab backseat.

You might want to make some measurements. I'm not sure that will fit under your rear seat. You might want to see if you can find the Saleen subwoofer on ebay. That would be the easiest route. The problem is Saleen no longer makes them, so demand and pricing may effect your availability/cost.

If you can't find one, Q-Logic makes the box and you would need to add an amp and get a subwoofer for the box. I have that setup in my truck and while it's a little bigger than the factory box, it puts out much better bass.

There are a lot of aftermarket underseat box options available. Almost all of which will surpase the factory sub. Supercrewsound makes good ones and there are several similar options on ebay. I have a Q-logic box with an infinity perfect 10 and also an 8" RF punch Stage 1 in a box I built. Both are under the back seat. I replaced the factory door speakers with Infinity and Alpines and I am running two Kenwood amps. I still have my factory head unit and the sound is great. I suggest checking out Crutchfield.com also. They have a lot of good information on their site and also have several options available for underseat boxes.

Rockford is selling them through their ebay store, High Desert Audio. I picked one up last week for $150. I should have it tomorrow. It will be integrated with the Pioneer P3100DVD, I have the adapter harness for the audiophile sub and am going to "get creative" so that the amp gets signal from the low pass out.

Both of my amps have speaker level inputs and high and low pass filters so it makes it a pretty easy install and lets me do what I need withouth getting too complicated.

a q logic box and a 10" RF P1 would be about as close as it gets to the premium sound IMO

it will mimic the audiophile setup due to the wiring and amp. The power wiring is laughable at best, unfortunately...and the amp measures 36 watts a side, two sides. Prior to installing mine, my friend put the amp on the test bench to get the specs and it was DOA out of the box. I snagged a small 2 channel amp that puts out more power bridged than the Rockford amp and with a power wire twice the size of the "plug n play" wiring, it will actually sound good.
