2 12's on only 250watts?? umm good luck..

you need atleast 250 watts to each to get an okay sounding woofer IMO. you arnt gonna find manny subs that get loud off 125 rms each.

Get another amp and come back and i'll answer your question.

also don't expect answers when you are very vauge with your question. we need details to help you

Oh okay im sorry.. I have no clue what any of it means so bare with me. Im trying to figure all this stuff out.

tk5075: Id love to say thanks, but you werent any help. But it is somewhat difficult for me when I dont know anything about car audio. I may need to go buy another amp, but I found one really cheap from the original price so I bought it. I was trying to see what I could get away with. Im not wanting something that is going to shake my windows and all the bolts in my doors loose or anything. I just want something better than a stock system. But just so I know what do you prefer or suggest I get? I dont plan on spending 500 dollars on an amp.

projektlift150: Once again I apologize for my ignorance but I had no other idea for figuring out what I need and I have seen some really nice systems on here so I thought I would give it a try. I do have a aftermarket head unit though. I dont know if that affects anything though.

It is a lighting audio 750 2-channel model b4.250.2
Power rating: 250Wx1@4ohms
Input sensitivity:150mv-4v
High level Input:1.5V-10V
Signal to noise Ratio:70dba
Channel separation: 50db
Crossover:high/low/all pass switch
Crossover type:50-500hz

thanks,
brad

You're getting good information. tk7075 is telling you that amp does not have enough power to push more than one 12" subwoofer. You haven't indicated what you're trying to install this in. If it's a rear seat box, mounting depth plays a big role in what subwoofer to select. You can pick up a lot of good tips looking in the knowledge data base at Crutchfield and the12volt.com to get you up to speed on car audio.

I had originally posted my plans. I have a 98 f150 ext cab. Im making a box that goes in the middle of the back seat so you will be able to sit on either side. Im not exactly sure on what I measured out that the measurements would be thats in the shed somewhere, but I was wanting it to be around arm rest height. I was going to put on sub on the flat surface on the top and one on the face going to the floor. I had planned on mounting the amp or amps somewhere on the passenger side under the back seat or under the drivers anywhere where they wont be that easily seen.

Dont confuse what I said. I didnt say that I wanted cheap subs. To me the word cheap is used to describe quality. And I defintely dont want 10's, because I have a reason for 2 12's. My ONLY issue is vibrating all the stuff loose in my truck. My friend has a king ranch f350 and he put 2 15" kicker cvr's in there and since he did the sliding window in the back wont open anymore and you can hear stuff shaking in the door and everywhere else now. I have no desire for that much bass because I am white. But im no cheapskate I dont mind spending a few extra dollars for something that will last.I know you get what you pay for. But at this point I dont know what to get. I just have an idea of what I am wanting to do.

I have a friend that wants to sell me two infiniti subs for 80. They are 12's which is what I am wanting. I have no clue on the power rating or anything like that on them though. I DO know that he had a 1000 watt amp powering them. So I assume the subs have a quite larger RMS rating than my little POS amp I bought.

use youre 2 channel amp you just bought on your front door speakers and look into getting another mono channel amp to run your subs that your going to get. pick your subs first and then look for an amp that will play nice with them just be sure not to get an amp that will be to underpowered for the subs you want one that has a little more power on tap than what the subs will actually need. look at rms ratings only not peak or max. so if you find 2 subs that say 500wrms dvc 2 ohms or 500w rms svc 4ohm you will want an amp that will put out 1000 to 1200 w rms at 2 ohm. or 2 subs that say 500w rms dvc 4 ohms or 500w rms svc 2ohm you will want an amp 1000 to 1200w rms at 1 ohm. if you have any more questions just ask were all here to help or try to.
