Broke subwoofer wire terminals...

I'm not quite sure how, but both the positive and negative terminals on one of my woofers broke. They are the kind that look like a screw with a hole in the middle (where you stick the speaker wire) and a cap that screws on top, tightening the speaker wire down. They're both broke right at the hole, so I'm left with a half-moon shape to put the wire. Should I be able to solder the wire directly to what's left of these terminals? I tried this and the solder wouldn't stick to the terminals, only to the wire.

You will need to get the metal coating off the terminal for the solder to take to the terminal. you could try some 120grit or a metal file to take the plating from the terminal and make sure you use some flux to make the solder stick. you can get this from any plumber supplys and it's in a tub or tube.

Just make sure the solder you use is rosin core.
