Thought this was merely a bad speaker. Apparently, it's not just that.

I just installed my new door speakers, and STILL have no audio from the left front door speaker.

Any ideas what could be causing this? Possible remedied to the problem?

I'm far from an expert on car audio, so any help is greatly appreciated.

 

That's happened to me before, but all I had to do was take it out and reconnect it, sometimes the connection get's bad. That's a quick easy thing to try.

 

Problem solved. Had a friend at the local car stereo shop check it out, wire was broken inside the rubber boot. Apparently this is fairly common when you get problems like this with door speakers on the F150. At least that's what he said.

 

It sounds to me like you bought aftermarket speakers because your factory one had quit? A little more info would be great. Do you have a stock HU or aftermarket? Amp or not? Have you already checked the wiring, both at the HU and door? sorry you posted at the same time.

 

Aftermarket HU. I did exactly what you said, bought aftermarket speakers because I was under the impression that the stock one was blown. Got a good deal on some Pioneer speakers, and installed them. Cost an extra $40 to get the wiring issue resolved, but I'm happy to do that rather than burn a bunch of time and effort in tearing stuff apart trying to track down a problem, and potentially cause myself more problems.

 

As long as you are happy, that is all that counts. I am sure that the Pioneer's sound better than stock as well.
