Best bang for the buck components for front doors?

I'm not wanting to spend top dollar for components nor do I want a slight upgrade then stock speakers. I want the best "bang for the buck".

I plan on going to some local shops tommorrow and don't want to get *** raped because I don't have much knowledge on components. It appears that I like to listen to my music very loud. Both the rear speakers are blown, and one of my front after market Pioneers is blown. I'm thinking in the range of $200 or less.

I'm still doing alot of research on this new topic that is new to me. I really don't know too much about systems, I just LOVE banging and cruising. I've also read someone suggesting that you dont even want the rear speakers.... Is that what alot you guys are doing? Subs and components in the front doors?

This is my current setup. Old pics, but same setup.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

The basic consensus budget pick for comps on here are Polk db571s.. Should be able to find them around $110-150.

How much power do you have available to send them?

Max power ratings don't mean anything. I'm guessing its 150 rms though? Not sure they could handle all of that, keep the gain down pretty low and you should be fine.

A lot of people on CarAudio.com would point you in the direction of PG RSD's . as far as bang for the buck. Might want to check in to them. And if they are 6x8 like ours (03) then you could fit the 6.5 no problems. Or if you want to look into more costly speakers you have a good $ amount for a set for Comps. Just FYI many people only put components in the front and just el cheapos in the back, if any for rear fill since you would have your subs pounding back there. or in your case from the console. Cheack out that site I said and you might find a better deal on a used set in your price range. GL

I've read great reviews on the Phoenix Gold RSd 65cs. I was willing to spend up to $200, but these appear to be great component speakers. Whatcha think about these?

PG RSD 6.5cs
Great speakers I picked up a set back in 2007 because of all the hype.. Best bang for the buck...

They had been on sale for $59 a few months ago.

Good to hear. And these will fit in the front doors without modding? Also where do most people put there tweeters?

I would put them in the doors by the mid woofer. You dont need them in your face then they might be to harsh. Its up to you and how you like to hear them. I used to put them kind of ear level, but I was younger too and didnt understand.. LoL. But I would put them close to your mids and you should be fine. Everyone has their own prefrence so just do what YOU like.

I havent made many posts as I am fairly new to the forum, but one thing i know for sure is car audio... The one thing to always keep in mind on installing components is to keep the tweeters AT MOST 18" apart from the mids... If imaging is important to you, try to have the placement configured to where the tweeters point ACROSS the cab at your ears(from passenger side to driver's side right ear, and vice versa). No matter what brand you go with placement and imaging can help you get the most out of your setup. Good luck brother!

If the brand you choose happens to have pivot mount tweeter, even better...

While this is mostly true for passive components, if you run active crossovers with a solid EQ and TA you can get great off-axis performance from many tweeters.
