What do you use to terminate speakers...

What connector do you guys use to insert the speaker wire into the amp? Or...do most of you use bare wire ran into the amp?

Pics of connectors or links would be great.

Thanks.

I have nothing to add to your question, but that's the second time I've heard about Ferris Bueller today...Apparently the nerdy dude's house from FB is for sale for about 2.5 million in Illinois. (The house with the glass garage that the Ferrari was driven Through) Anyway, now you got a free bump to the top.

Anything that would improve SQ besides going with bare wire directly into the amp?

spade connectors, soldered, with heat shrink. Looks a helluva lot better then just jamming bare wire and gives a better connection.

cant use spade terminals if your amp only has a set screw for a compression fitting bare wire seems ideal for that. but you could soldier the end of the wire to make it stronger so it doesnt break the strands off over time.

Yeah....my Sundown amps have set screws. What about using something like this from parts express?

For better SQ, there are much more important factors to focus on than the way you connect wires to your amplifiers. Using bare wire wont make or break your system, but dont just shove them in there. Be careful/neat, DONT TWIST IT, solder then ends if you wish.

Sound deadening, sealing doors, speaker placement/direction, and tuning will all have MUCH greater effects on SQ than amplifier connections.
