Question amp & woofer advice..

I got a deal on 12" or 10" pioneer shallow mount premier subs, custom box and jbl or JL (i dont remember) 800 w amp installed for 550... but im hearin jbl amps suck and so do pioneer subs.

I dont wanna spend much more than 550 and my system isnt my most important priority.. i just want a lil bump.

what products have a good rep but are affordable for me

Gracias all.

Pioneer sucks, Pioneer Premier is okay, You aren't getting a JL amp and all that for 550 lol. Maybe just get one better 12 than 2 12s?

Go to http://www.diyma.com and into their classified section. You will always find some really good gear for really good prices. I would rather buy quality used gear at a great price than have to fork over high dollars and compromise the quality.

JL makes a shallow sub that I heard was incredible.

Just keep the sub mounting depth around 5.5" and you should be good.

Do you have a factory HU? Will you be going passive on your crossover setup or letting the amp handle that?

My friend has 4 of these shallow mounts behind his seat being powered by 1100 watts, they sound alright. They just dont dig lows that well.

whoever said the premier subs suck is uneducated, the new 10" premeir s1001s4 is perfect for what u want, i had a set, they are a beefy good speaker and can handle some juice. i am speaking from actually using thaem for myself, not just rumors. if u want i can tell u what to order for about that 550 and that truck will rock, i doubt u want to rattle all the windows going down the street.

this all puts u a little over budget, if u just want a little bump, those mtx thunderforms sound good as fill for adding some low end bass

My brother used to have a 1000 watt JBL 4 channel amp that powered 4 Infinity Kappa 6.5" and a Infinity Kappa Sub, they have good amps, that thing is 8 years old and still kicking.
