audiophile tweeter install

I've searched and found no recent threads on this subject. I've also looked on Tasca Ford's website and so no additional door speakers for the rear doors or the front doors except for the tweeters. So, if I add the factory sub-woofer and the tweeters to an audiophile head unit with my existing door speakers, will I then have the same audiophile system that comes from the factory?

I found good instructions to gain access to the inner door to install the tweeters. My question is for anyone who ordered these or the subwoofer from the Ford Parts department, Do they come with hardware? Or, will I have to find some bolts. If the lower speakers are the same and will not have to be changed, will the tweeters just plug into them?

Thanks,
Bob

You would still need the audiophile head unit for the system. The subwoofer connector is not found on the regular head unit. You could do a lot better just getting aftermarket components for the front. The audiophile, while it's better than the regular system, is nothing special. Components would come with all your hardware and a cross over needed to keep the highs out of your drivers and the lows out of your tweets. I had to enlarge the hole for my 1" tweets and the mounting bracket, but a dremel makes short work out of that process.

I had the Audiophile setup in my truck and within the first couple months, tossed it in favor of a nice aftermarket setup.

The sub is decent and the deck is ok. Speakers are adequate at best. I replaced all my speakers with Fosgate components on a recommendation by Travis @ KC Autosound and put a 400x1 Kicker amp and 10" JL10w1 and it sounds lightyears better than the Audiophile did.

If you are dead set on doing the Audiophile setup, you may just watch around the classifieds for the parts. I tossed the speakers and sold the rest of everything, never would have thought anyone would want the factory speakers honestly.

Does anyone know if tweeters come with installation hardware? I'm also looking for part numbers for the audiophile door speakers for a 2007 F150. The part numbers I've found on this site do not specify the year.

thanks.
Bob

Hardware part number found

Just to satisfy my curiosity, I found the part number for the hardware to screw the audiophile tweeter into the door and the front door speakers:

tweeter screw part number: 4L3Z 4272 AA at a list of $13.00 EACH. Could be had on Tasca for $6.46 EACH. (need 4)
Front door component speakers: 7L3Z 18808 A. list $120 EACH. Could be had on Tasca for $83.31 EACH
tweeters: 6U5Z 18808 XA & 6U5Z 18808 YA. list for $28.06. Could be had on Tasca for $21.60 EACH

I think I will keep my current hybrid setup: Audiophile head unit, OEM Sub, and Polk Audio db 571 door speakers.

cheers,
Bob
