Here's a REAL Sub enclosure suckas!!!
Me too...I just wish I could see what it would feel like to sit on. It looks like its so low that your knees would be in your face.
Hmmm, I'm not sure but ummm, in your sig is that a Sundevil F150, or did FORD make that for you? I heard those things are sweet!

Call it braggin' if you want to (I don't see it that way, it's not even my design), I just wanted to show you guys what I THINK is the ideal subwoofer enclosure for our trucks. The SCS and Fox stuff is SUCH A BAD design yet more than 50% of the people who have subs run a version of it.

Comparing home audio to car audio is like comparing apples to bananas. A car is an extremely harsh environment, sound waves reflect and go everywhere. A room is very easy to get great sound out if, a mobile vehicle isn't. Not saying you can't get great sound out of a ported box in a car, because you can. But I wouldn't compare it to a top of the line home theatre system.
In a car, I've always preferred a sealed box for its ability to play the lows...which are the notes most easily lost/diminished in a moving vehicle (especially a big pickup truck traveling down the interstate).

As far as a sealed enclosures ability to "play the lows" what advantage you have is typically under 30hz and quickly disappears once frequency rises above that (especially as with higher power applications). The overwhelming majority of music I play is >30hz and is played with the volume and power levels that lead sealed enclosures down the path of darkness...uh, I mean distortion

Have you ever measured from the floor to the top of you seat cushion? Mine was 14" It definitely seems a lot taller than it really is
I FIRST saw this in a Silverado running 4 Focal 8's and it was wrapped and upholstered and when I sat on it I was like "WoW", this is totally do-able. While I'll be the 1st to admit it was not on the comfort level of the GM factory back seat, it's not like the back seat of the F150 is designed by lazy-boy either. The enclosure, when done, will have padding on the top and the entire exterior will be upholstered to look like the back seat and when you get in, it will not be a bad ride at all. I was not willing to sacrifice available seating for the sake of subwoofers, but I knew that what was out there as far as sub enclosures went, was not getting the results I wanted. I've gone through 2 different styles of SCS enclosures with 3 different types of subs and I knew I needed something else... So this is an idea of what it's going to be

That's kinda funny considering you have a sig with pictures of a truck and a list of a whole bunch of mods that someone else built or is building for you...lol

I did mine the other way around on my silver 03

OP add me to the list that wants to see the finished results

i agree with you on the enclosures under the seat with a 8" or 10" in them just isnt enough to satisfy.
mSaLL I totally respect what you have to say (that's why I be IMing you...lol), so you as much as any one here knows, it's not EASY to get great sound out of a room (just easier), and comparing home audio and car audio is closer than one might think. Dynaudio, TC Sounds, and Acoustic Elegance are just of few of the high end manufacturers that took their home audio components and "reworked" it to the specifics of a car's environment, but yet it remains very close in design and function.

As for Dyn and TC sounds making speakers tweaked to car audio, I really fail to see how these "tweaks" are worth the 1000 bucks you are paying. When I heard $50 Daytons compare to $250 Hybrids, I just dont see why one would spend so much money on those speakers unless they want the name. Sure, they sound fantastic and are the best you can get. But when you can get similar performance out of actual home audio drivers with proper installation and tuning while paying 50-75% less, why not go that route?
Just my opinion, I dont have money to buy expensive stuff so I find alternatives.
But I have heard them in a couple installs and they do sound very very good and get plenty loud. The ones I heard were off 175w per channel (Zuki Eleets) and were crossed 200-6k. Sounded wonderful. Cant beat them for 50 bucks.
