You could've got the woofer for way less, considering you're not using that box...

Decent price on the amp, although you could've had 3 times the power for the same price...

And I don't really see where that sub is going to fit in you're truck...

...Uh what?

Do you mean you don't know why you spent more than you had to?
And do you mean a port?

Its alot more complicated than just cutting a hole. You might be in over your head, especially with the obvious mounting depth issue (will not no way no how fit under your seat) and the fact that your floor isn't flat. But RE Audio has a great box design aid, which will help you get started.

Seriously though, if you can, return that sub. For 180 you can get a single 10 or 12 (or dual 10s or 12s in a lower model range) that will have more output and sound so much better than that L5 (actually its hard to imagine anything that wouldn't sound better).

I'm a bit biased here but:
Digital Designs has a new "thin" version of their 1500 series in the 8" and 10" sizes, which are 130 to 160. Heck return the amp while your at it and get something better.
AQ 1200D - 1200 watts at 1 ohm, pretty small and very efficient, and 250 shipped from the factory. Audio Que also makes some great woofers that will fit your application.
Look at Image Dynamics for a more SQ oriented setup, but since you've bought a square Kicker I doubt you're concerned with that. RE Audio also makes quality woofers. If you want to bump up the price range to 250-300 for a sub you'll open up alot more possibilities.

I mean it does, just not in an F150. Unless he is looking to lose his backseat. There isn't even room for the mounting depth in that truck, much less the airspace an L5 needs to get remotely loud off 400 watts (assuming D4 coils).

You could get louder (assuming the same truck) with 200 watts and a 8" woofer and spend half as much. A Sundown E8 or AQ SD2 8" would murder that L5 on half the power, if you could even get the L5 to fit.

I normally put those in either Single Cab trucks or in Chevy's with an 1" more between the floor and the seat (It still sticks out a bit...). But I put 2 of those in a 99 F150 Single Cab with a Kicker 1000.1 (When CC still had those.). Can you say nuts.

99 percent sure they do not carry 1/0 HyperFlex...least the one near me does not. There isn't a need for them to carry it, nothing they sell takes anything over 4 ga.
