Thunderform box or other custom box..
Just wanted to pas sthe word is anyone was thinking of buying a MTX thunderform or other custom box made from anything other than wood.. I just had a long talk with a friend who works at a stereo place he strongly advised to not go this route..apparently these plastic/whatever there made of custom boxes have lots of flex when the sub is working and this causes the sound be adversley effected. Nothing can replace the sound that is produced from a solid sealed, MDF box and that should be the #1 choice if you are considering a Subwoofer.. Just my 2 cents..
that is true but i have a thunderform i love the way it looks, and it sounds pretty darn good. and it hasnt had a problem for the last 3 years. but to anyone wanting to buy one they do flex so dont think they will handle some re's or l7s or anything crazy. mine hits around 110 120 and is super responsive
