So your cheap...and tired of a tape deck
What the ehll should I do here guys? My 97 F150...said I wouldnt spend any money on it but now Im not so sure, I do know Im getting tired of the crappy stock tape deck and speakers though. I can only listen to my 'mix' cassette from 1995 so many times.
At first I was just going to throw a CD player in it, hopefully something that would have inputs too so I could hook my Ipod up too it. I still havent found one, Ive just been asking all my buddies if they have a used one sitting around I can buy or trade them some beer for.
Anyway, I might upgrade the speakers a little too now. They sound like azz and one of them is Fd up...from me
Your mission is to find me something CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP to put in there that isnt absolute crap.
I was thinking a small 4 channel running either some coaxials in the front, or else buying some cheap tweeters/mids from somewhere like Parts Express and a few things to make crossovers for em. For the back, might try out some of those little 6.5 or something like that subwoofers -something I can get away with doing very little work to just drop them in the stock location and have them work. Just something to give me a little sumtin sumtin down low. Probably just a waste of time/money though.
So...go find me something. Think cheap...like change found in the sofa cheap.

Haha thats fine. You know me, it will most likely sit around for six months till I decide to rip stuff out enough to put it in anyway.
Sounds good on the HUs, thanks

Might have to check those out because of their size.
I reallly need to rip the back panels of the truck and see what I have to work with back there. Im not sure if I can fab up some kind of enclosure in there or not, Im pretty much just guessing at what I have and throwing ideas around. Next nice day I might tear into it...
An idea I have in my head is to fill the B pillar where the rear speaker is with expandable foam, carve an enclosure out, then fiberglass the inside of it or something. We'll see i guess.
