I want a modest system for my truck. I am looking at getting speakers, maybe components for the front. Can any of them ran ok off of an aftermarket head unit? (~15w rms) or do they need to be amped?

Also, does anyone have the Apine type-S 5x7's installed. Crutchfieldcanada says they won't fit. Below is their response when I asked them about it:

- Regarding your question the Alpines SPS-507 will not fit is due to the mounting height of the speaker itself. The factory space has 0.73 inches for the mounting height and the SPS-507 needs 0.793.=

yea, you can run em off the HU, but it will sound a million times better if you put even a small amp to them
