Audiophile Subs

Has anyone replaced the factory Audiophile sub with an aftermarket sub? Would putting a high quality aftermarket sub in the factory enclosure enhance the bass?

Just curious...

At the very least you'd need to add a new amp in addition to a new sub. At that point you might as well replace the enclosure as well, it might not be big enough anyways.

I have thought about it, but like me most people once they get that far they would rather just up the enclosure as well. I mean if your going to upgrade might as well do it right, but I would think it would be fine, if you can get one that will fit, at least it would hold you over until you came up with the extra cash for a better box.

Not to mention, the audiophile enclosure is garbage. I pulled it apart, its just a plastic box that is half stuffed with polyfill. The thing flexes like crazy, very poor for good sound.
