Need Advice For A Friend

Alright so one of my good friends from school is wanting to get a better audio system for xmas. Hes got like a 05 or so Nissan Xterra. For his budget he wants to stay around 500 bucks if possible. Anyway I know thats kinda cheap but I think we can work around that.

He's pretty set on getting subs and keeping his stock HU cus its a 6 disc changer. So my knowledge only goes so far, he listens to mostly hard rock/metal so hes not lookin for competition bass, just clean sound.

So what do you guys think would sound best? 10's? 12's? What brand? And what brand/size amp?

Thanks in advance

For 500 you could get speakers, a 4 channel amp, and some wiring.

Or, you could be like every other retard on the road and just get some cheap subs and a POS amp and have it sound like absolute crap all the way around. Lol.

Not trying to be mean, just saying it how it is. $500 will barely get you started for "clean."

If he wants true "clean" sound, tell him to do it in stages and do it right. Get a quality 4 channel amp and speakers now, and save up for the subs later.

ok so recommendations for door speakers??

it looks like the front doors have 6X9's and the rears have 6-3/4 but you can also fit 6-1/2 with an adapter...

also what 4 chan. amp would compliment your recommended speakers best?
