OK fellas:

I am looking for a little more thump, and I am trying to decide between new door speakers or adding a sub. But what i dont know is, will adding new speakers add bass or will i need to get a sub for that, and can i add a sub without adding new speakers? I have searched here and I see the the Rockford Fosgate is well like and i have these in my boat and really like them.
Any comments are welcome, and any thoughts on a good set up are appreciated as well!
thanks everyone,
Allday

If you want the thump, you need a sub. You should be able to add one without changing your existing speakers.

I went with JL Audio's Stealthbox. Good quality there.

Would i have to buy a new head unit? I like being able to change the volume and track with my steering wheel control, and i heard that if you get an aftermark head unit you can not use those anymore. Anyone know anything about this?

you can do it both ways. if you dont get a new HU, then you need a line out converter
if you do get a new HU, there is most likely a harness made by PAC to use the steering wheel...they have a ton of em.

I have the PAC harness in my 08 f150 and the steering wheel controls work fine with my Pioneer gps HU. $80 or so.
