My custom center console with a JL 10w7

Well it got started over the weekend and everything is ready for paint maybe tomorrow. They said it should be ready to install and get going next weekend.

It is going to be painted glossy black. It will just slide in and bolt down using the consoles frame as support.

The center console in my truck will still be functional. I will just loose the bottom seat part. The armrest will stay as well as the power outlet and cup holder in the back side.

I have more pics but they are on my cell so i havent sent them all to myself yet but more pics will be coming!

tell me what you think

An ID ID over a w7???

Eager to see the finished product though. What are you running for a front stage?

my front stage is a set of Pioneer Premier TS-D720C & the matching 6x8s for the back doors.

I bought them based on this review from "car audio and electronics" magazine...http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/St...E720Review.pdf

I have the Pioneer Avic 700bt head unit. and you seen the pic of the MB Quart 5 channel amp. I also have dynamat on the doors and all stinger wires.

Uh yeah with 300 bridged watts at 4 ohms and a 10 inch W7 to push, yeah I wouldve saved that cash and bought an efficient sub that could utilize that power. I.E., an ID or IDQ. I mean this is an SQ build I believe.

Edit: Ah its a 5 channel. So it could be at less than 4 ohms. Still same opinion.

its actually a 3 ohm sub.. so itll be close.

but all the reviews i have read say that the w7 is a great sub musically.

i dont know how good it would do in a SQ competition, but for everyday music i thought it would be a great choice. at a few shows last year i noticed when people have w7s in their vehicle other people tend to take more pictures lol

besides the sub is less than 2 feet from my head.. would i really need more that 300 rms for day to day hitting?

I have the same Pioneer set up in my truck. They are great speakers. You might be able to do better, but it will cost you an arm and a leg!

Well, in a word, Yes. The 10W7 is rated at 750RMS. The closer you can match the amplifier power to the RMS the better the SQ from the speaker. You are barely halfway there. But....it is your vehicle and if you like it, then that's all that matters.

Not necessarily. A speaker that is super efficient can be at nearly full potential with half of its rated RMS power. The rest of the power might add a negligible amount.
