Help with wiring speaker with tweets?

Help with wiring speaker with tweets?

Installing a 5-channel amp and I want to add some tweets too so do i wire the tweets with the door speakers and run both speakers off that one channel (FRONT LEFT)? or what should i do?

Are you planning on amping all 4 doors, tweets and sub? What amp is it? What spks? What tweets?

its just a cheap 2200w 5-channel Valor i got from a whole sale place dbldistributing.com. wanted to hook up all four doors and a sub with some tweets. i bought four polk audio 5x7's for the doors.

The polk 5x7's have a built in tweet. There should be enough high there.

yeah they do but it still sounds like im missing those highs. probably because they are so low on the door.

Then ya, take wire up the tweets in parallel with the speaker (++ & --) Then take that to the amp, MAKE SURE THAT BOTH ARE THE SAME RESISTANCE AND CAN HANDLE THE GIVEN POWER!

ok! what are some good ones that arent too exspensive!most bang for the buck?

What I've done in the past is use the headunits speaker outputs to power tweeters. A descent headunit will give you about 25w. Just make sure you have a inline filter for the tweeters to block the lows that normally go to the front RCA's. Another option is if your front amp has pass through connections you can use a tiny amp to power some higher power tweeters and use the amps high pass filter.

Polks I think are a bit bright I'd probably look at some silk tweeters to add a bit of depth to the sound.
