Why delete the rears? Why is rear stage not important? I'm new to sound imaging and everything, just curious. I mean, I have people in the back of my crew cab often, why wouldn't I provide something for them to hear as well? (I've heard of putting coax in the back, component in the front. Why not this setup?)

Having speakers in the back pulls the soundstage behind you. You want the stage in front of you, as if you were in a concert hall. Try turning your rear speakers off for a while and see how you like it. Some people prefer it, some people dont.

Im in college and have people in the back all the time. I have no rear fill, but i do have my component tweeters mounted slightly off-axis in the upper door, raising the soundstage. Tweeters in the stock location would muffle it more for people in the backseat. People in the back have never complained about a lack of sound in my truck.

I do plan to put ED 7" subwoofers in the back doors though once i can afford another amp for them and a deep cycle battery. They will be dedicated midbass woofers, crossed 50-200ish.

To simplify ... 'rear stage' is a non existent term. Ever been to a concert? What musicians were on the 'rear stage' ? There is only one stage and that is up front.

However if you want to have something in the rear, there is no right or wrong to doing this. It is simply personal preference.
