Sub opinions and advice, please.
Ok, I have done a TON of research on this lately, and would like to get a few opinions or some advice maybe. I believe I'm going to go with this 1x10" sealed box from http://musicmooseaudio.com/ford_f_150f_single.html. The reason for this over supercrewsound is the 1/4" more mounting depth and slightly larger volume. Now then, I have looked through speaker specs until I'm blue in the face, and have somewhat narrowed it down to a few. Before I list these, I guess I should say that I'm wanting to run about a 300w amp at 2 ohms. The music it will be seeing will be mostly country and heavy metal. (So I need decent sound quality while holding notes and heavy, fast attack out of the speaker) I'm undecided what I'll be using for coax and components, but they will be running off 4x75 watts to match the sub amp.
These are a few subs that I've narrowed it down to, any experience/opinions on these? Which would you use in this setting and why?
(md=mounting depth, disp.=speaker displacement, number before price is sealed enclosure volume-small and optimum)
Elemental Designs SQ10
3" md
250w rms
86.7db
Single 2 *or* 4ohm
9.33mm xmax
.03 disp.
.25-.5
$70
Elemental Designs 11Kv.2
5"md
400w rms
87.1db
Dual 2 *or* 4ohm
15.1mm xmax
.05 disp.
.3-.6
$90
RE Audio SR10-D4
5.25" md
thermal power handling -Pe: 300w
85.3db (1w/1m)
dual 4 ohm
18mm xmax
.12 disp.
.5 optimal
$122
Any idea on the bang for the buck factor? Any comments are appreciated. I've read several of these shallow sub threads and I really hope I've given all the pertinent info. Thank ya'll.

Hey man. My friend has a pair of Image Dynamics IDQv.2 d4s in his chevy truck (all we listen to is country and metal) and it is the most accurate subwoofer i've heard in a car/truck. Very crisp on the double bass, yet very mellow and perfect for country. I definitly recommend it for your application.
My second choice would be the 11kv.2

I was recently looking for the same thing...did a ton of research...and received a lot of feedback from this site. I ended up buying an Image Dynamics IDQ10v3D4. It is suppose to arrive on Saturday!!!
The ID's are great, but they're also about $100 more for the speaker alone. I want quality speakers and sound, but I'll trade off Some SQ for cost effectiveness. Thanks for recommending them, though. I did think for quite a while about trying out some ID's.
I also read a lot of good things about the RE Audio subs, and seriously considered the RE Audio SE10D4. They sell for $240 from woofersetc.com (which is a highly recommended internet retailer, and an authorized dealer). You can also buy them from a variety of Ebay sellers with 99%+ ratings for $142 including shipping, but without the manufacturers warranty. I have never heard the RE subs, or bought from these Ebay dealers, but if I would not have gotten the deal I got on the IDQ (Ebay individual) then I would have gone this route (my budget was $150).

I think I'm still deciding between the RE and the ED. They both get great reviews and are nearly the same price. I just don't know. The ED's opt. volume is .6, with the driver displacement in this box it comes out to .65. The RE is .5 and comes out to .58. I'd like to use a 300 watt amp and the ED is 400 compared to 300 on the RE. I don't mind going up some in wattage, but I'd like to keep it at 300 so I can match it with a 300 for my components.
Ok, new idea after some thought. Why bother buying another amp when I already have a decent sub amp? It's an MA Audio HC2502. Here are the specs:
HC2502 2 Channel High Current Amplifier
Continuous power ratings @ 13,8V
@ 4 ohms 2 x 250w
@ 2 ohms 2 x 450w
@ 1 ohm 2 x 750w
@ 0.5 ohm 2 x 1250w
I suppose instead of spending money on another amp I could use the money for the larger 2x10" supercrewsound box and one more 11Kv.2. If I run them at 2ohms They'll be getting 450w rms each. (I've read that these are over rated amps and they'll probably see closer to 400-425 rms) I wasn't totally correct on the 400w rms on the 11kv, their rms range is from 300-600w rms. (eD's site recommends using their amp at 400w rms) With the SCS box I'll have a 1/4 of extra mounting depth but after subtracting driver displacement will be .05 Under optimal volume. Is this worth worrying about, or should I just substitute some polyfill? Any opinions welcome!!

i have two 10" memphis m3 (08 model) powered by a alpine mrd-m1005 amp in my 04 supercab and it rocks, its pretty loud i can rattle windows and set some car alarms off haha but dont do that to often. but let me tell you this get a good box cause i had mine "custom built" by some guy in another state i heard about him in a forum so i called him and ended up buying the woofers and box from him. it sounded ok but then i found out that it was leaking air (long story) so i re siliconed and resined the box and now it thumps way louder than when i barely got it. and do the big 3 man that will help you get a constant voltage. mine doesnt drop below 13.4 or so. im hopeing it will increase when i put the yellow top in . good luck check out my gallery for some audio pics.

I have a Qlogic enclosure for an F150 + a Alpine Type R sub for it. When I had it in my F150 KR it sounded really good. Here is the link to the classified ad https://www.f150online.com/forums/pa...-r-10-sub.html
