if you want to get that box I would probably recommend buying it with the sub already loaded - its an mtx box that normally comes loaded with an mtx sub. Thats what the enclosure was designed around so why mess with it...too much hassle to find another sub that will fit the same parameters and sound as good... any true 250w rms amplifier (4ohm load) will push it well...otherwise, look at this box :

http://www.supercrewsound.com/shop/detail/11/40.htm

its the supercrewsound single UTS box that fits under the drivers seat and gives you 5.25" mounting depth to work with and .75cubic feet of airspace. your options really open up with this box as far as what sub/amp combo you can go with. supercrewsound pushes image dynamics pretty hard which do make great subs, but you could easily run elemental, JL, boston, Treo, or even memphis in that box...im pretty sure they all have a sub that will work pretty well. If your really wanting to go the JL route, watch your power handling and dont under or over power those subs - the lower level JL stuff has been known to work extremely well with the recommended power, but not so well if its under or overpowered (blown woofers, fried VCs)...what shop recommended that JL to you?

by the way I am somewhat partial to wood boxes over the plastic and composite boxes, i just feel they give a better sound but thats just my preference and opinion

only reason i was not going with the MTX already loaded is b/c i know nothing about them or their amps... and I really liked that second box you recommended more, but didnt know anything about the subs they are pushing? (which i realize i could go other routes)

the shop i went to was audio central here in brandon... only local shop i know of :o

the box he had was similar to the one i posted up about, and he wants $140 for the box alone...

the sub line they push hard at supercrewsound.com is image dynamics - a very reputable line. pretty much renowned everywhere for their sound quality..i know many people who run their subs religiously (and their horns even more so as they are world famous)... you could definitely go with the supercrewsound UTS single 10 box with their recommended image dynamics 10" sub, and then pick up any decent amp (no junk amps from pawn shops, walmart, etc) and be ready to go..what brand amps does Audio Central push - most shops have one or two chief brands they push more than anything else even if they carry more lines...

THat's the best looking sub...but can't fold the seat down with it. I'm going to try the slim JL 10 inch with a Clarion amp (freebie). I'm not looking to rattle my teeth, just some bottom.

either companies amps will run the image dynamics sub just fine...your going to pay a bit more for the JL amps, some love them and some hate them...i think they make great equipment - just not worth the price they try and charge for it... as long as you get a decent amp you will be fine - garbage amps give out dirty power that can destroy a nice speaker... so avoid brands like jensen, pyle, boss, etc...odds are if its available at walmart or a pawn shop you dont need to fool with it...

are you buying the sub from supercrewsound? I would go with the dual 4 ohm configuration for your sub...and definitely go with an amp that will push around 400w RMS at 2 ohms...what model fosgate amps are you looking at? be sure to check their RMS power ratings and not the peak numbers...you need to know what it will push in mono configuration at 2 ohms to work with that dual 4 ohm voice coil sub (parallel the two 4 ohm coils down to a single 2 ohm load for the amp)

Yes, the sub will be from SCS...

Here is the amp I'm actually leaning towards...

that will work just fine... just be sure and specify the correct voice coil configuration when you order the sub from SCS

well the other guy never showed with the money, so i went and picked up this:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7nnztGX...x?i=500MRPM450
and this:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...o+MA100QS.html

Seeing as how I've always had audio shops install it for the fact that I'm lazy and wanted it to look clean, I've never paid complete attention to step by step installation. Well I called today to have the local shop install.. $150 for install??? HAHA, never! So, now it appears I will be doing it.

What do I need to plug in the amp to the back of my stock radio? What gauge wire should i use for amp to battery and amp to speakers? any other info?
