subwoofer question/problem

So I bought a used sub today (stupid I know) and I'm trying to figure out what issue is. It randomly pulses even if no music is playing (i.e. power to the amp, but no music playing on the head unit). Its almost rhymic (sp). I don't know if it is my sub or my amp. I am 100% positive my amp worked perfectly when I took it out of the eclipse, however it did sit in my garage for a long time (never got wet or anything like that). I've done several sub/amp installs and never have had any kind of problem like this. Hoping maybe yall know whats up with it.

that sounds like it has to be the amp, as far as i know, there is no way for the speaker itself to randomly pull power from the amp. maybe try hooking the amp up to some other speaker and see if it does the same thing. go to walmart and get a 30 dollar sub, hook it up, figure out the problem and then take back the sub, haha
(its "rhythmic" btw)
