Hertz Comps install Question

I have a 02 Screw that I just had Hertz Hi Energy comps installed into. My question is: the drivers side door panel covers up about 1/3 of the mid driver. The shop installing the comps said that is where they fit and it's that way because of the speaker opening. Is this the case? Is the driver partially covered by the door panel because of the factory speaker cutouts? Am I missing any SQ with 1/3 to 1/4 of the driver covered? BTW the passenger panel is perfect. Thank you

thats probably where its supposed to be. in my 2000 the speakers are offset from the grille. you might lose a little sounds, but i dont imagine it would be anything terribly significant. but with those hertz's you are probably looking for the best sq possible, so you might want to center them with a little baffle cutout.
you could try taking the door panel off and seeing if the sound gets any better, then decide from there

You can carefully trim the doorpanels under the speaker trim cover.

That's an 8 by the way.
Then brake out the drill and drill out the speaker cover holes

Oh and put a little sound deadener on the back edges of the speaker cover.
Thats about as good as your going to get.
