I was wondering what everyones opinion was on bed cuts! Friend is advising me to do it with 2 Kicker S12L7 and 2 Kicker SX1250.1! In a 07 Supercrew!

If you know what you are doing and how to do it, and dont mind cutting gaping holes in your new truck, Its ok.

But for two 12s????? COMPLETLY NOT worth it.

Now if you you came in here saying you wanted to run eight 12s or six 15s or something, and have the skill to do it the right way, then hell yeah I would love to see that.

You've got much bigger stones than I if you are considering cutting up a brand new truck. As said above though, if your going to cut up your truck you might as well go big

All I am wondering is can I make them sound as loud as with a bed cut since I can get more airspace with it and make the box more specific!

 

You have a few options,

• Make a box like Tuff4rd
• Make a box like F150Monster232 and go with 10's (I think thats his name)
• Scrap the backseat
• Get different drivers completely.

 

I definately wanna keep the back seats! I was also wondering if the Boston Acoustic G5 10-44 and GTRs would be able to compete 2 of each!

 

Im not sure what the Sd of an L7 is since its square, never looked before, but I would still bet cone advantage goes to the G5s and PRs...
I dont know if you were planning sealed or ported for the L7s I guess either...
Low can probably give you a better idea of what would be louder.

Give me a G5 over an L7 anytime, anywhere, as far as SQ goes...If you can get the PRs tuned nicely.

 

Well the L7 are goin ported that's why I was told bed cut! The G5/GTRs are sealed that is there specialty! The G5/GTRs are like 3 1/2 10" Subs but the L7 would be 2 12" Subs!

 

The g5s will sound half decent, the L7s will sound sloppy as chit.

 

So if I am gettin a custom box I should just get 4 G5s instead of 2 G5s and 2 GTRs? I just want some nice loud bass that will get some attention and let people know that I am comin! All without losing the option of having my full backseat to sit in!
