I have narrowed it down...

I have a 2004 f150 supercab(newbody) Im doing a 2 inch seat lift on the back seat. I formally had 2 10 w3v2 subs powered by a memphis st 1000d amp, amp=1 ohm stable.

My new subs I want similar sound quality, however im ok sacrificing some sq for a large spl gain from my former jl audio 10w3v2 subs.

these are my choices so far..

2 dd audio 1508 subs in a ported box
2 Treo ssi 10's maybe ported
2 Image Dynamics IDQ10 maybe ported
any other ideas out there, including recomendations?

i would go with the DD's no doubt, those things hit hard as hell, you are probaly going to lose a ton of SQ though depending on the box, the treos are probaly going to be the same but the ID i think are more SQ oriented subs and probaly dont hit as hard as the w3's

1) due to airspace under the seat, i'd stick with a sealed box.
2) IDQs will not be as loud as your w3s.
3) The DDs and Treos will both get loud. I'd also look at Fi SSD 12s and Stereo Integrity Mag 12s. Both of those will perform excellent under there and will get LOUD. The Fi subs are relatively inexpensive for their quality, an excellent bang for your buck woofer.

MSALL150,

put those in order for me then from 1-4 on what you think will give me what im looking for.
I would rate those jl audios w3v2 subs sq%/spl%-65/35 and im now looking for the other way around, 35/65!

Price isnt an issue because there all around the same price!

also id prefer to stick with 10's just because there a bit punchier!

thanks a ton so far for your help.

1) SI Mags
2) Fi SSDs
3) Treo ssi
4) DDs

I put the SSDs before the Treos because they are recomended for less airspace, and you will be limited on that.

I put the DDs lat because i dont know much about them. For all i know they could be at #2. Check the airspace and power specs on them, as well as mounting and price. See if it fits into what you are looking for.

SI mags are awesome. If you can find them.

Fi's are trash. Ran them for a year and absolutely hated them. The 12 is closer to 7inches deep too and BARELY fit under my seat with the lift. I ran them upfiring and had clearance issues

any personal experience with the si mags? I looked on that website and that have options lke bp power and flat coil and junk like that. I know the dds require more airspace but that is only because they need a ported box, and are known to be really loud, while still having some sq!

looks like the battle is now between si 10 mags and dd1508s maybe dd 1510 if they can fit...

Yeah but I'm sure 10s will fit fine @ 6" depth each. Why didn't you run them down firing though? Did you have proper airspace?

Mags are absolutely wonderful man. Don't think twice you'll never look back I promise. One of the most clean, crisp, accurate subwoofers you will ever come across!

Yes sir. 1.3 per. Ran them upfiring for better sq. One woofer was DOA when I got it. Tryed to send it back under warranty and they made me pay for it and woofer repairs. Horrible customer service. My new setup will be gnarly to say the least

will the mags prefer a ported box or a sealed? Will they be able to be louder then my jl audio w3v2 subs? and how about louder then 2 1508 dd audios ported?

You can see my point here is to be LOUDER!!!!!!

Mags will do fine in a sealed box. And hell yea they will be louder and sound way better. Its all about the box man. Just make sure you have adequite airspace and enough power and youll be overly happy. Hell Bartak was running 2 12 SI mags on a 1000 watts in a moderately sized box in a single cab and he said it was still loud as ****.
