back to the drwing board

well, we had a 3x dbdrag here in cincinnati and I decided to show up and hang out for a bit. I got to run the 4 8s..... 131.7 dB while slamming the voice coil into the backplate.. and that's ony with 325-350 to each 8. not the full 450 it also doesn't sound quite as good as I had hoped either, I think having dual 2 ohm subs wired down to 1 is changing the T/S perams.... and I don't think the T/S numbers eDuh has on their site is right.... so I'm thinking about ditching the 9Kv.2s. they are punchy and get low but I think I can do better. so I'm going to try sundownaudios E8 next. they come in at 4.25 deep and are built simalarly to the 9kv2 or arc 8. but with a stiff suspension and smaller box requirement... I've also heard people burping them with 800 watts. I'd like to try all my options with the current box.. I know the re8s are out.. those bottomed out with only one of my amps, so those are out of the question.. if these don't work I know the IDQ8 and arc 8 will fit... maybe the cvr8.. and if that dosnt work I can try the tang band 8's too... if I STILL can't break 140 sealed I can try 4 8's ported with a seat lift but then I would lose all my low end I'd propably have to ditch the 4 8s at this point since a seat lift would allow me to run 2 deep high xmax 12's

As cool as the whole four 8s idea is, that is why I would never do it as a daily install...just wouldnt give me what Im looking for I dont think without sacrificing all your SQ.

Have you looked at the RLi 8s?? That would be my first choice if I ever decided to look at 8s.

the rli-8's were my first choice but they wont fit under the rear seat without a seat lift.

+1 for the 8L7's. I had 4 of them doing mid 47's @ 45hz (new TL) in a daily box tuned to 33hz. Not the greatest number ever, but they got pretty damn loud and sounded good doing it (IMO).
