Will it fit?

I have an idea of a killer system buy im not sure if it would fit. I want to put 4 8in DDs under the rear seat and mount my amps behind the seats. I know i will custom fit a box but wasn't sure if everything would be alright like air space and everything. Anyone have any thoughts.

there is plenty. depends on the driver, but it can easily work.

DD 8"s you'll only get 2@ 1.5cu ported under your seat sadly enough but they'll be as loud as any other 4.I've seen 145 from 2 DD 8's but they don't sound all that great.
Look up Soundsplinter Rli 8" these might be what your looking for.Although I have'nt the pleasure of listening to them. Reviews of these are saying they get almost as loud as DD and sound Great while doing it, they use a much smaller box.5cu ported so 4 would fit.If money was no object I would buy these.

I went the cheap rought and bought 4 boston g108 sealed they pound but are a little lacking in the SQ department but O.k. for a 50 dollar each speaker. I wish I would have spent a little extra cash on 4 Arc 8" or Image Dynamics ID 8"or JL8w3v3 all of these sound great with some better lower end extension than the Boston at about twice the price 99 dollars per speaker.

the dd 1508's are too deep @ 5.25 mounting depth. the Rl-i8 8's are even worse at 5.65. I BARELY had room to mount eD 9Kv.2's which are 4.375 mounting depth, you cant fit much more than that... maybe about 4.5 MAX if the pole isnt vented

theres also only about 1.4-1.5ish cu ft under the seat.. BARELY enuff to run 4 sealed depending on the driver.. which isn't a bad thing but the massive 8's like the 1508 and Rl-i8 really need to be in a ported box....

Styx, with my LMI 2.5 lift the new sealed box I just made will fit any 4 of the woofers you just mentioned sealed and it's only under the longer bench side of the rear seat 33.5x6.5x5x19 1.37cu with a 2 inch foot on the front if I used the whole underneath the seat I could easily do it ported. Brypink put 2 10w7's under so there's more than 1.4cu under the whole seat.

There's 1.6 under the longer bench side seat that's about all maybe a little more but you'll have to use the drivers side rear underseat well a little. I'm really contemplating trying a 13w3 downfiring sealed.

4.75 might be too much. specially if there is a pole vent

Doh,

I just figured if he was talking about DD then a seat lift was part of the equasion,My Bad.

Styx, your right the best woofer without lift is probably the ED 8".
Altough,I've been told the ID 8 and Arc 8 can have the magnet cover/shroud removed for pretty small mounting depth.

the arc 8 is VERY similar to the eD 9kv.2.... the baskets are identical and the motor is probably the same, only diference might be the soft parts. looking at the specs I could drop them in my box no problem, altho I don't know if they can take 300rms
