I think you know where I was going . If you bought a prefab box , What would you learn about Speaker box building ? Alot a prefabs use 1/2"-5/8" MDF . Build it yourself and use
3/4"-1" MDF. Alot of prefabs have glue and brad nails holding thin MDF together . Build it yourself and use glue , Liquid nails , Etc and SCREWS . Your homemade box would be much stronger , less flexing = better bass , but hey ,what do I know , just trying to give some advice .

Point taken, but I have other things that are higher on the priority list. I'm totally new to car audio and don't think I'll ever get into building boxes anyways, so I'd rather just spend the money to pick up a good one.

Maybe if space wasn't an issue and I could just throw something together and plop it in the trunk I'd be more willing to try, but since my truck is my DD and I need as much rear seat space as possible, I'd like to get a pre-fab box that fits under the rear seats.

So, all that said, do you have any suggestions for pre-fab boxes that don't suck?

We have the same truck . My truck is also my daily driver . I have 4 12's and 3 amps behind the rear seat and an XM radio tuner, Crossover, power and ground blocks under the rear seat . Space was not an issue for me , because I learned how to build custom boxes and audio systems many years ago . If you buy a prefab box for 2 10's , to go under the rear seat . You will not be able to fold your seats forward , something that I can still do . I'm just using this as an example , If you learn how to build custom boxes and systems , you can do things that you never before imagined were possible .

Got any pictures? I'm a visual kinda guy...

Fold the seats forward? The back of my rear seats don't move, but the actual seat itself only folds up, are we talking about the same thing or are they actually different?

Regardless, could you suggest a few places I could find info on box building? The more I'm looking into the setup I'd like, the more work I'm finding needs to be done. I'd have to run new power wires back to the amps, and probably upgrade the wiring to the battery and alternator (from what I've read).

There are some good guys around here that can help, but is there any other place where I can find the kind of beginner info I'm looking for?
