That was a very poor system to get your first judgement of Memphis on. I have used and installed their stuff for about 8 years now, and it still continues to impress me. I'm not saying that its the worlds finest equipment, but what you get for the money is hard to beat....when installed properly, of course.

I have never tried anything other than the Memphis amps. I think they are awesome for what they cost. The Memphis Belle is still one of the better 5 channel options out there. I ran one a few years back to some Diamond comps and a Diamond TDX 10" sub with 1,100 watts. Still one of my favorite sub installs I ever had. I really can comment on the subs and speakers, never used them.

Although Memphis makes great bang for the buck equipment. They are not on par with Elettromedia products.
D enlighten me, are Hertz relatively expensive components?

I had a single Memphis 12" that would do 152 on an AudioControl mic...so, whats that, about ~147-148 on a TP? That was just something I literally threw together about an hour before a show one time. With some tuning and playin around, I probably could've done a lot better.

My point is, dont count them out just yet.

you cant really use the audio control mic as a reliable bench, those things were TERRIBLY sensitive and could be adjusted. for all we know that 152 could have been no more than say 128 on the TermLab

I had the silver model with the plane emblem on it. It was only like 7" wide. Took up very little room and sounded great. The new ones have gotten bigger but still pretty small for a 1400 watt amp to run the whole system.

Ya, Nitro is about as cheap as you can find... I put it on the same level as Boss.

They vary in price. The do not have as many models as say Rainbow, but they are probably pretty good comparison. Car Audio and Electronics reviewed a set of them pushing up near $1,000 if I remember correctly and they gave them rave reviews. I think they start around $200 and go up from there. I have not personally heard them but, they have been getting great reviews all around.

Mine is an '07 model and I am more than happy with it. The one you had was one of the very first models they made...very clean amp. I know a couple people that still have that amp and they sound just as good as the day they bought 'em.

My buddy is running a set of Hertz components in his lifted chevy with the tweets mounted to the A-pilar, with 2 12" IDQs under the back seat, whole truck deadened, and i must say his system sounds incredible. The components really impressed me.

I just dont know much about Hertz, wondering if any of you guys do.
