I dont know a whole lot about subs and such but I bought a MTX custom inclosed box that fits under the back seat with a stock apperance and it came with a 10" sub and a amp already installed. It was a package deal. It hooks up to the stock stereo speakers that run threw the floor. I have been nothing but impressed by the performance. After the break in period It continues to get better and louder. Also it has adjustments to set it to your listening preference. It thumps real loud but not so loud as to wake the whole block up. IMHO I think it is a great bang for the buck and has quality sound.

The 2 10's I have now just aren't quite as loud as I was hoping for. They are 200w rms into each sub. I like them and all, but I am just looking for more powerful options for this summer. That's why I was asking about the JL's, but I really like the mojo 12" subs now, I just need to find and amp to power the mojo since they take 1000wrms.

Oh ok, well the system i have wont cut it for you then. It sounds good but i dont know if it would stand up to two 10's or 12's for that matter, although I have been told it sounds like 12's. Oh well sorry I couldnt help more. Good luck with your search.

for 1000 dollar price range..id suggest the 12inch L7 dual 4ohms and wire it for a 2ohm load and get the older rockford fosgate BD1000.1 amp.the newer RF amps arent as powerfull as the models 3 years ago.
had this setup years ago with my old truck and people couldnt beleive i was only using one 12 inch sub.ive hit mid 140DB in that single subwoofer setup before.
the key is making th right box for it.

kickers are loud but sound like pooh.

get something that is loud AND retains good sound quality. IDMAX, Fi, Stereo Integrity, RE, and TC sounds are all good options to check out.

2 10's can get loud, you just need ALOT of power and an efficent box design which takes up alot of space, I had 2 10's and 1800watts rms at one point, uber fun times when people found out they wernt 15's

So Styx.........

what should he get for $800-$1000
I am trying to get a lot of bass and am willing to shell out some decent money on the sub and amp this summer.

Ok so say I was going to get a mojo 12" and possibly an alpine amp. I built a center console for my truck last month because I like the lower space that a sealed enclosure takes up. I can build any type of box, but I do like having the center console style so I can fit four people in the cab. ok I just read the specs for the mojo 12" and the optimum cubic ft. is 1.5. That will be easy to meet. I think I have it all picked out now I am just going to have to wait for a couple freaking months to buy it all when I get a summer job Darn college
