OK, Here's the plan. Solobaric L7 12 with an Alpine m850 amp running it. It's going in a buddy's 2000 F150 S'crew King Ranch. We've looked and looked and we believe that we can create a sub enclosure in the bottom of the rear center console. We want to build a false floor in the console about 4-6 inches deep and install the sub at the bottom firing towards the floor. I'm pretty sure that the plastic console will either hold a MDF enclosure or we could fiberglass reinforce the sides, the false floor of the console and the sub mounting surface to seal off an area of @ 1 cu ft. The question I have is since the sub will be firing down and the console normally makes contact with the floor all the way around, (we plan to cut some gaps into the sides between the seats next to the floor) is this configuration going to end up acting like a bandpass enclosure (sealed behind the sub and ported in front of it)? Hopefully, I have explained this well enough that you guys can envision my plans and enlighten me to the downsides/ up sides of the arrangement.
