decided to go with infinity speakers
decided to go with infinity speakers
getting 6.5 and 6x8 componet sets
2ohms 90rms a speaker 360 total
i plan on running a amp to these havent made my mind up either a 350.4 kicker amp that will give them exactly 90 rms to each speaker
or go with the hifonics TXi6406 170 watts to each speaker
people say they are overated so i wont be getting a full 170rms to each speaker pob around 130 or so
my question is how much more watts can u give the speaker than recommend i dont want to blow them or anything
i only am going to use the doors for highs not bass
thanks

Well, my first thought would be to NOT get Infinity speakers. I've yet to hear a single set that didn't sound like dog poo.
Secondly, if your settings are correct, and everything is tuned and cut off properly on speakers for doors running around 150rms to just about any decent pair of speakers will be perfect.

how many times do we have to tell you, RAINBOW buy 6.5's for the fronts and leave the rear alone. I've used Infinity reference 5x7's, 6x9's, kappa 6x9's and kappa 5 1/4's they really wernt that great
well sorry to make u repeat yourself trying to get other peoples suggetion besides your not everyone has the same sugeestion as you and i am sure there are other people out there that are smarter than your about audio
and also i dont want to leave my rears alone i want new speakers for the back as well

pete and repeat were in a boat. pete fell out who was left?
and there are only a few people on here that know as much as I do about audio, I respect their opinion and usually its the same thing I would suggest. upgrading your rear fill is an absolute waste of money if your spending more than 50 bucks on it. you need to concentrate 90% of the resources on the front stage when your building a budget minded setup. cause you can either spend 300 on the more important front stage and have a really good setup or you can waste money upgrading the rear fill and only have a mediocre sounding setup

Who is in the select few?
You spent 9 on rear fill...
And I do agree with the 90% rule of thumb... But I always have friends in the truck and I watch DVD movies all the time... Its all abt useability.
