New To subs

So I'm completely new to car audio, but i want to put a sub in my car, probably just a 12". I was thinking about taking my time and building my own box. I passed by this on the internet the other day and thought it would be really cool If I could make my sub look like this

Can you buy covers that look like that, and how would you get lights to work on it, and lastly, how do you build the box with plexiglass like they do?

I have a 2003 scab, is there a link that I can have that gives proper box dimensions to build one that fits under the rear seat?
