Box Build Up, Pics Inside!

Hey people

I bought a box from supercrewsound.com, it was ok but the longer i had it the more i didn't like it. So i decided what the hell, i would try to construct my own. here is my progress so far. A member suggested middle supports, is it needed? Also i used Liquid nails and a nail gun to construct it. After the liquid nails dry im going to use silicone to seal it up tight.

I have used liquid nails (heavy duty) for several boxes with much success. I typically also use some quiet kote from parts express to seal up the enclosure.

I have also heard that gorilla glue works well.

Either way, if you can, you should go to a pep boys or similar and pick up what is known as "kitty hair"... it's basically a body filler mixed with fiberglass strands... it's great for sealing up sub boxes and is quite strong.

I wouldn't use nails they don't really hold the box you need to put in screws every 4-6" IMO. Also don't forget to seal up all the joints inside with silicone and let it dry for 24 hours.

Looks good otherwise wrapping them is the biggest PITA I think

Looking good.

I would suggest some type of brace in the middle too. Bracing is your friend when it comes to sub boxes

That is what i was thinking, maybe a couple support pillars in the middle, since he wants to keep it as shared airspace and not divided.

Here is one of the better ideas for bracing a sub box and not isolating the subs from eachother. this guy is over in the fiberglass forums. Box is for a tundra, and the trashed seat is like that so the fiberglass top can fit in there.

looks good bro

personally i like to separate the subs...well unless if they are running on the same amp(which i know you are) then it is ok to put them together but if one goes the other will follow soon after, and i would brace just the top the other pieces are small enough to where you dont need bracing
