Installing speakers????

So i just got sew pioneer speakers (6X8's) and i want to replace all 4 stocks with them. My ? is i thought that they would come with a plug that would fit the stock harness but they didn't. All the have is a place to solder the wires to after i cut the harness plug off. That is assuming htat the truck hase a plug. Anways could anyone point me in hte right direction for hooking these up?

Also is there a trick to getting the door panels off and the side panels off the rear of my Extra cab?

98 Super cab 4X4

I'm assuming you have power window's and door locks ? FRONT DOOR PANELS--take out the 2 screws at the bottom , Lift the front of the (point) switch panel and pull forward , unplug the connectors to the switches and remove the 1 door panel screw . Pull out the oval plate around the black handle that opens the door, and remove 1 screw . Lift complete door panel straight up about 2-3 inches and then out . once you are holding the panel you can remove the light out of its socket by turning it counter clockwise .

You don't need to solder anything . Remove 4 factory speaker screws , pull out speaker , leaving it connected . Cut the wires about 3-4 inches from the speaker . Now you have two 4" wires coming from the factory speaker . Strip 1/2" of insulation off of each wire end . Grab a D,C or double A battery and connect one wire to the positive and one to the negative . The speaker should push OUT not pull in . If it pulls in , reverse the battery until the speaker pushes out . When it pushes out , take note of the wire color going to the positive end of the battery . That wire is your postive wire in your door . You no longer need the stock speaker unless you put the back in at a later date . Strip 1" of insulation off the ends of both wires in the door . Your pioneer speakers came with wires . One of the wires is solid and one has a black line . Twist the solid wire to the positive wire (that you made note of earlier) and use electrical tape . Twist the black line(pioneer) wire to the outher wire in your door , and tape . Push the pioneer spades onto the pioneer speaker and put speaker in door . Do this for all four doors .

The ones i got were demos and dont ahve any wires but this being said i could do the same thing to it with the battery and connect the like wires to each other. I remembered hearing about the battery thing a while back from someone but i could never have know what to do. THanks.

go to circuit city and just buy the harnesses. They are $8 each pair. You just unplug your factory plugs and plug in the new harnesses. Then plug or solder the ends of the harnesses to your pioneers.

You shouldnt have to mess with the battery setup because the wires should be black and grey or some type of color cord. The harness only plugs in one way and is marked accordingly.
