Unhappy never use a cir. saw to build a box!

Well I was fed up waiting on the cash to get my install worked out and went about making my own stealth console box with a 12" sub, which quickly turned into AH! AH! AH! MORE POWER , and the plans change to installing my 15" L7 in place of the console. Well after careful space planning, I realized I did not have my table saw, (Friend is using it for home improvements.) Long story short even with a very steady hand its hard to cut a 45 degree angle with a circular saw. I think I not only wasted a day but $21 on MDF I am going to hang up the idea of a 15" and Just look for one of those jl stealthboxes with a 12" sub made for a King Ranch rear console. I just dont have the time or the energy anymore to try and slam together a box.

Come on guys, I would be in high cotton if I had a table saw....
Just use a guide bar clamped at both ends of your MDF and keep the saw shoe tight against it all the way down your angle cuts... works like a champ, I have built my last 3 boxes like that... I even use a bar on 90 deg cut to keep them strait as possible...

Remember, you are gluing the wood together on all joints, screwing and then sealing the inside seams also, covering in carpet, so you have a little wiggle room on seams, The cut do need to be fairly strait, but now CNC grade...

Circular saw and jigsaw, das how I roll baby

Measure measure measure and measure your guide and do it again...take it easy and slow and you can do it. Takes a little more skills, but very doable.

I took a class recently and damn did they teach me some neat little tricks. Like flipping a router upsidedown and using that with a rabbit bit and 1/4'' and 1/2'' roundover bit. Now i just need one of those at the shop/home... Maybe one day right. Oh and a RTA would be cool too.
