Pioneer TS-SW2541D Shallow 10"
10" 4-ohm shallow subwoofer
carbon and glass fiber reinforced IMPP cone with woven-fiber surround
Air Suspension Control System eliminates traditional spider structure
cast aluminum basket

And of course:

Image Dynamics IDQ10V3.D4 Version 3 10"

Mounting Diameter: 9.60"
Sealed Enclosure Range: .55cu.ft. - 1.1cu.ft
Ported Enclosure Range: 1.0cu.ft. - 1.5cu.ft.

Let me know guys what you all think I should get and I'll make sure to get a ton of pics. I don't wan't a seat lift. i listen to metal and hard rock. And Rap occasionally. SQ is higher in the food chain than SPL, but I just blew my last sub so I play them very loud! I don't want to change out amps to go louder so this will need to match up pretty good to the new sub(s). Everything else is stock. Next to go is the H/U, then the door speakers. HOOK A BROTHA UP!!!

PS, if you have another sub in mind, post a pic please.

Thumbs up

Out of the speakers that you had selected I would have gone for this one. Primarily because of your need for a shallow mount speaker, and because this unit is about twice as loud as the others (given similar circumstances)
Shallow mount speakers give up some conversion efficiency (Elect.>Sound)producing less sound per watt. If you can got over this point that you will need essentially twice the power required for similar speakers than they all are essentially the same. I prefer convex geometry speakers myself, but I can understand the need for fit in some vehicles.

Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1000F Shallow 10"
10" 4-ohm shallow-mount subwoofer
carbon-glass fiber composite cone with butyl rubber surround
cast aluminum basket
power range: 50-250 watts RMS
peak power: 1,000 watts
frequency response: 35-800 Hz
sensitivity: 90 dB
mounting depth: 3-3/8"
sealed box volume: 0.6 cu. ft.
ported box volume: 0.6 cu. ft.

Why not these?

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_s...p?series_id=15

Seems like they would be a good match for your amp. Two 4 ohmers, wired parallel. I'm running two 8 ohmers off a PDX 1.600. They sound pretty decent.

Get passive radiators and put squirrels in the box to push them in and out.

the kenwood doesnt even dip below 35Hz you can find comps that will hit lower frequencies then that....

i like my subwoofers to hit the low lows. go with the IDQ no doubt. if it is too deep, get the v.2 its more shallow.

35 is the low lows, anything below needs massive cone area to hit

i wouldnt call the IDQ massive. my sub isnt a very good one or massive at all and it plays 20Hz test tones.
