Red face Wits Ends

I've had my truck(2007 Screw) for a year now and I just can't get it to sound right, I tried the q-logic box with several brands of subs, I tried a center console box from Anarchy Custom (total disaster), I tried another center console box that holds 2 10's on each side. I was looking at a fiberglass box that holds three 8's from supercrewsound.com. I was wondering has anyone tried it or something similar before I spend more money.
I currently have a JL 500/1 and a JL 300/2 for the componets. Any input or suggestions would be great.

have you tried the regular 10" box from supercrewsound.com? most people really like it. especially if you get it with the 10" IDQ sub, i doubt you'll be dissapointed.

What 'sounds right' to you???

Best thing you can do is make your own boxes. For the price of one (usually crappy) prefab box, you can make yourself four or so boxes and experiment a little.

I got mine from supercrewsounds.com and now that I figured out what I was doing wrong it sounds pretty good w/ my ID sub. With that being said I have decided to sell it to move up to 2 10's. So if interested let me know. I'm also selling my head unit, 2 pair of 5X7's and my sub amp.

here's some stuff I learned while setting up my system. I'm using an Alpine hu so I don't know where the factory unit clips.

OK This is what I have learned from here and ROE.
1st Alpine head units clip at ~ volume 20 (at least the 9856)
2nd for some reason the + & - wires needed to be switched. If anybody could enlighten me on the reason for this it would be nice. I know the wires coming out of the amp are right and the wiring in the box is right.
3rd MP3's or whatever ipods use are bad for setting up a system. Esp ones downloaded for free.
4th I guess that the truck is loud my wife said she could hear it in my neighbors house about 1/2 block away.
5th Gains should be set with the bass and treble at 0 not at max.
6th Amps (Rockford) rate their amps at 14.5 volts so I'm not getting 400 watts rms w/ only 13.3 vdc.

At this point I have reset my gains with the volume @ 18 and and the bass and treble set at 0, I have reversed polarity on the sub, I have looked into adding a 1000 watt Memphis or Cadence amp ( both are 600watts at 2 ohm) or adding another ID sub or switching to two TC-1000 subs or Memphis M3's Or DD 10's. I have also looked in to changing the hu to an Eclipse cd4000 or a pioneer premier 980. (Budget will help me decide which one). The system is sounding muchbetter now that I enlisted you and ROE's help. Everyone here and there have been helpful w/ this matter. Also the guy's at ID helped alot. This goes to show that you guys know ALOT more than a local shop that helped w/ the install. Thanks again for your help.
