+ 2 Tweeters? How?
+ 2 Tweeters? How?
I have Infinity Kappa speakers, 100/300 rms/peak. I'd like to add another set of 1" Kappa tweeters to the front pillars, what do I need to wire these up? Where do I splice them into the other speaker wiring/crossover? Thanks in advance.
You wont want to splice them into your other tweeter wiring from the crossover. The crossover is designed to work with one tweeter at whatever impedence that tweeter is....if you add another one you will mess that impedence all up, and your crossover point will be all wacked out.
The correct way to do this would be to buy another small two channel amp to run them off of. Split the signal going to your component amp to the new two channel, hook the new tweeters directly to the new amp, and use the crossover on the amp to highpass the tweeters.

Actually I think you will be fine adding the tweets parallel. I just did it this weekend for a customer's 2008 Taurus. I installed a set of Boston Pro60s in the front and rear doors and added a set of IS Neo Type-M tweets to the A pillars. I didn't notice a crossover slope difference. I don't think the tweeter voice coils are large enough to make a difference. Now when you're talking midbass drivers or something then it will change.
The IS tweeters and crossover are designed to be parrallel wired to the amp......
You parallel wired just the IS tweeter to the crossover that came with the Pro60 comp set, along with the tweeter that originally goes with the comp set?????????

I think he was saying that he ran the crossovers off the same connection as the amp.
WilsonXXX was asking if he can add another tweet to the same tweet connection output from the Kappa crossover?

I'm sorry. I'm brain dead. Technically I paralleled the crossovers
off the amp on the same channel that the Pro60s run off of. Didn't put
much thought into what this topic was asking.

I figured you knew what the heck you were doing, I just didnt want Wilson to get the idea it was ok to parallel the tweets onto the crossover since it confused me a bit to...so I wasnt picking on you, it was for the sake of the thread
