Impact, Bartak, etc.. Need quick opinion

Hey Guys one of my buddies is getting a 12 si bm and we were trying to figure out which amp is right. He is building a ported box for it and has 400 to spend total. I was thinking maybe $250 at the most for an amp.. That way he can maybe buy some deadener and wiring kit also. First question.. Cant you a BM at 2ohms? This alpine looked pretty good if it could be ran at 2ohms because I know the BM can take way more than the RMS http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=17565
Any other suggestions are appreciated thanks guys!
Impact, how much are you sending to yours?

Yeah, BM is a Dual4 VC config, so you will have a 2 ohm final load.

Impact is running 1500-1600 to his two BM 12's sealed IIRC. He says they are doing fine, Im dont know how much more power I would want to run to them daily though. Thats getting into Mag territory if you ask me. I wouldnt have the ***** to run any more than that.

Since you are going ported, I dont think I would want 800 watts on it though. More like 600ish.

Now you could get that Alpine, but set your gains LOW or your just asking for trouble.

Thats my 2 cents.

Can't go wrong there either. Eclipse amps are pretty good! Course -I- would want more power! Tim "the tool man" Taylor was my idol growing up.
