Clarion MAX675VD

Im probably bout to go with this unit but wanna know what the deal is with some headunits only playing DVD's if it is park. Is this one of those units and if so, is there a way to bypass that so it can play anytime at all, like while driving down the road? If anyone has this unit, please offer some info on how u like it and dislikes. Throw up a picture of it in your truck if u can. thanks fellas.

Check this posting out. https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...=289597&page=2

Travis at KC Autosound (www.kcautosound.com) has a customer that is in need to sell his unit for money problems or something. Travis just installed it in his Focus. It comes pre-wired for your truck and already bypassed. I'm sure he can tell you more about it. He's also offering the add-on nav at a discount to help sell it.

that's what i thought when i tried installing mine.

that's partially right and wrong.

when you ground the wire you have to hook a switch to it then it works.

1) installation kit for the dash
2) wiring harness

is this a simple hook up, like most cd players? ive never hooked up a double din but have hooked up many other cd players. Its near the same huh?

do you have the wiring harness specifically for the radio to match the truck? or do you have to splice the wires in?

the switch is there b/c when you apply the parking brake (if you hook it up that way) it is like flipping a switch.

the switch is there b/c when i installed the radio and grounded that wire nothing happened. i took it to someone and after looking at it they said i needed the wire hooked up to a switch. it worked out great b/c the previous owner installed a switch next to the cig lighter so i just used that.

this is the switch:

pics of the headunit are in my gallery, sorry they are with my phone

i havent got it all yet... im trying to figure out what all i need... i have my box and seat lift ready to go (gotta wrap in carpet still). got amp and 12's and all the wires to hook my system up but before i get the deck i wanna know EVERYTHING i need. im also gunna hook up visor screens and maybe headrests later (nobody ever rides in the back).

I like how it looks in ur truck. the phone takes pretty good pics. can you tell me what all you had to get.

Check this out and see if this is what is needed to bypass that park stuff....

yes that should work.

headunit
dash kit (might take a little trimming to get the hu to sit how you want)
wiring harness(i got a generic harness with mine when i thought i was getting a vehicle specific harness. not a big deal but i did have to splice all wires into existing factory harness)
beer
